Australia’s Remote Islands

This three-part series presented by ABC reporter Tracy Bowden explores three unique Australian islands from the Sub Antarctic to the Sub Tropics and to the South Pacific.

Australia's Remote Islands - Macquarie Island

Macquarie Island is half way between Australia & Antarctica. Home to a research base for Australia's Antarctic division. Its other inhabitants range from inquisitive penguins, to seals, to seabirds.

Australia's Remote Islands - Norfolk Island

Norfolk Island is in the South Pacific Ocean, and has a fascinating, but brutal history of convicts & mutineers. Many of its people are direct descendants of Fletcher Christian & his bounty mutineers. (Final)
