Come with us as we explore the stories of Chinese Australians in various Australian museums. We celebrate Chinese Australian history and culture by looking at belongings connected to work, love, fashion, food and community.

Belonging(s) - Work: From Laundry Workers To "Slashies"

We look at a long scroll depicting early Chinese Australians as laundry workers among others. Plus we see a drum kit used by the late Alma Quan, a musician who coached debutante dance routines.

Belonging(s) - Food: From Cookshops To Cuisine

We check the shards from rice bowls dated back to the 1870s when Chinese cookshops dotted the goldfields, and trace how early Chinese restaurants helped create the richness of contemporary Asian Australian cuisine.
